Curriculum

Undergraduate programs1. According to the educational goals of the department, all the courses have been designed on the basis of the core curricula of early child hood education and care, and five curriculum clusters have been developed to form the main framework of the curricula. These clusters are Care for Infants and Young Children, Performing Arts of Young Children, Montessori Education, English for Young Children, and Early Intervention.
2. The first- and second-year education is focused on the core curricula of early child hood education and care, and the third- and fourth-year education is focused on the elective courses of the five clusters and practice-oriented courses such as practicum in early child hood education and care.
3. Core curricula and Courses included in the five curriculum clusters are as follow:
  The core curricula of early child hood education and care include: Early Childhood Development, Play for Young Children, Behavioral Observation and Recording of Young Children, Approaches to Early Childhood Education, Administration and Organization of Child Care Services, Professional Ethics, Parent Education, etc.
Courses of Care for Infants and Young Children cluster include: Pediatric Physiology, Early Childhood Education and Care, Young Children's Diseases and Health Care, Nutrition, Meal Planning, and Food Preparation for Young Children, Nutrition Therapy for Young Children, Safety Education for Young Children, etc. 
 Courses of Performing Arts of Young Children cluster include: Instructional Methods of Rhythmic Movements for Young Children, Instructional Methods in Song-Leading for Young Children, Children's Art, Music Appreciation for Young Children, Instructional Methods of Music for Young Children, Drama for Young Children, etc. 
 Courses of Montessori Education cluster include: Theories and Practices of Montessori Education: Practical Life, Sensory Education, Math Education, Language Curriculum, and Cultural Curriculum, etc. 
 Courses of English for Young Children English cluster include: English for Young Children (Basic level), Daily English for Young Children, English Storytelling for Young Children, Teaching English to Young Children (Advanced level), Teaching Young Children English through Music, and Practicum in English Teaching for Young Children, etc. 
 Courses of Early Intervention cluster include: Development and Care for Exceptional Young Children, Introduction to Early Intervention, Early Intervention Programs, Music Therapy for Young Children, Family-Based Early Intervention Models, etc.


Master’s Degree Programs
The master's degree program focuses not only on the required core curricula but also on two major areas of studies: 1. Integration of theories and practices in early childhood education and care and 2. Administration, organization, and management of early childhood programs.
  The core curricula of master’s degree programs include: Research Methods in Education, Advanced Educational Statistics, Topics on Early Childhood Care and Education, Research in Early Childhood Educational Approaches, Master’s Thesis, etc.
  Courses of “integration of theories and practices in early childhood education and care” include: Seminar on Motor Movement and Development of Young Children, Seminar on Technology and Instruction for Young Children, Seminar on Child Assessment, Research in Cognitive-Neurological Development of Children, Monographic Study of Music Education for Infants and Young Children, Research in Teaching English to Young Children, Seminar on Planning and Arranging Learning Environment for Young Children, Seminar on Exceptional Children's Development and Care, etc.
Courses of “Administration, organization, and management of early childhood programs” include: Research in Child Care Organization, Evaluation, Seminar on Administration and Organization of Child Care Services, Seminar on Management for Child-Care Organization, Seminar on Administration and Communication of Child Care Services, Seminar on Leadership Styles and Leadership Effectiveness, Human Resources of Children' s education and Care, etc.
